Capture the flag is a game where you need to capture the opponents flag and bring back to your side of the field to score points. Capture the flag involves strategy when playing in groups and this explanation will explain how capture the flag works.

The Rules of Capture The Flag

Like any game capture the flag has rules and this paragraph will explain them. The first rule is that if you get tagged while you are on the enemies side of the field you will go to jail until someone from your team tags you or a jailbreak is called. The second rule is only one person can be with the flag at any given time. Rule number three is if the flag touches the ground it will have to be put back in its box.

Strategies for Attacking

Strategies are an important part of capture the flag and this paragraph will talk about offensive strategies for the game. One strategy is to send decoys out to distract the opposing team before sending out the fast people to capture the flag. Another strategy is for everyone to run at the same time to outnumber their defences and snach the ball.

Strategies for Defending

Defending is just as important as attacking in capture the flag and here are some strategies. One strategy is for everyone to stay behind and stand at the line and stop everyone from coming in. Another strategy is to leave some of the fast people behind to catch anyone trying to get the flag.

In conclusion, capture the flag is a game about strategy with simple rules that help people have a fun experience with other people.

How The New Zealand Voting System Works

 How The New Zealand Voting System Works

New Zealand has an election once every three years where the political parties try to convince people to vote for them and not for other parties. 

The New Zealand political parties

The two largest political parties in New Zealand are Labour and National. Labour helps the less wealthy people so they usually vote for Labour, National on the other hand helps the wealthier people so they vote for National. The third biggest party is New Zealand first with nine members. The other parties currently in parliament are the Green party and Act which wants semi-automatic guns to be re-legalised even though it's probably better if they're banned.

The System New Zealand Uses 

New Zealand uses the MMP (short for mixed member proportional), voting system which gives every person at least eighteen years old two votes, one for their favourite party and one for their favourite regional MP (which means member of parliament) . The one New Zealand used to use was FPP (short for first past the post), which gives everyone at least eighteen years old one vote which they use on their favourite MP.

New Zealand Referendums

New Zealand is currently having two referendums, the  cannabis referendum and the end of life choice referendum. The first one is a vote to decriminalise cannabis in the public. The second is a vote to allow people in a stable mental condition with a life threatening condition that causes them horrible pain with less than six months of life left to end their suffering before they die of their condition.

In conclusion New Zealand's voting system is stable and helps its people have the best leader as possible and make the best choices for the country.

 The Consequences Of Change In The Ocean

The ocean is earth's most important resource as it recycles the most air out of anything on earth. It also houses millions of creatures ranging in size from invisible to the human eyes and as long as houses. The ocean was also the starting place of all life, human or not.

Coral Reefs

Coral reefs are one of the most important things in the ocean, as they house at least half of the world's fish at one point in their lives and house one quarter of fish species on earth. But the coral that make up these reefs are sensitive to change and spit out the helpful algae that gives them colour leaving them bleached skeletons of what they used to be. Coral is also sensitive to slight changes in temperature and acidity, which can be fatal for them.

Overfishing

Overfishing is a serious problem as it is not leaving enough fish for everyone else. Overfishing is causing problems for some species of fish. Overfishing has made them endangered or even non existent in some areas of the ocean. Another problem caused by overfishing is that larger fish lay more eggs than smaller ones and since they are targeted by fishermen this means that they can't replenish the population as much as they should.

Climate Change

Climate change is a serious problem for places like Antarctica where the krill brought down with the cold water is the beginning of the food web and since climate change is heating up the ocean the krill is getting less abundant which is bad for the penguins and things that eat penguins. Climate change is also hurting turtles as they use the temperature to decide what gender they are and as the temperature rises more and more of one gender will be made until there is nearly only one gender of sea turtle.

In conclusion change is bad for the ocean and all of its inhabitants as it kills coral, melts ice, damages ecosystems and depletes the number of fish in the ocean.

 Why Did The Moa Go Extinct?

Moas were cool creatures and played an important part of the early New Zealand ecosystem, and must have been pretty tasty if you look at how over-hunted they were. Moas had nine species spread across New Zealand when they were around.

What Moas Did For The Environment.

When moas were around all of their species played an important role in the environment-spreading seeds. Due to the fact that moas were grazers they ate a variety of plants and spread their favourite food across the forest they were like gardeners for New Zealand bush. Moas also only had one predator, the Haast Eagle that made sure that they didn't take over and eat everything.

The nine species of moa ranged from the size of a turkey to twice the height of a person. One species of moa, the Northland giant moa was huge and one of the biggest flightless birds ever. Moas only laid one or two eggs per breeding season and left the males to incubate them.

Why Moa Went Extinct.

The entire reason moas went extinct was humans, Maori hunted them at all stages of life and destroyed their habitat. Moas size led to their extinction, as one fully grown giant Northland moa could feed many people for multiple days. Moas also probably tasted good because why else would they be over hunted to extinction when just one could be enough food for an entire family. Also male moas were hunted more than females either because they were slower or that they were easier to find.

How Moas Can Be Brought Back

It is possible to revive an extinct species if they died less than half a million years ago and furthermore New Zealand's moa is near the top of the to revive list, so it may be possible to see one of these behemoths alive and roaming the bush this century. 

In conclusion moas were an important creature for New Zealand's ecosystem when they were around whether it be the size of a turkey or as tall as two men.

Cornwell, Elsa, Perry and Thomas are sitting on a couch deciding what to watch on Netflix

:Cornwell annoyed: Just put Stranger things on Perry.

:Thomas Yea Perry it's far better than what you are trying to find.

Perry: Stranger things is terrible.

Thomas: Then what are you searching for?

Perry: Nature documentaries.

Thomas: Okay, nature documentaries are good but Stranger Things is better.

 

Cornwell snatches the remote.

Perry angrily: Give it back Cornwell!

Elsa: Yea give it back.

Cornwell: Nah I don't think I will.

Perry reaches for the remote.

Cornwell pushes Perry's arm away and puts stranger Things on.

Perry rips the remote out of Cornwells hand.

Cornwell: Give it back!

Perry passes the remote to Elsa.

Elsa runs down the stairs with the remote.

Cornwell chases Elsa down but falls over and fractures his skull.

Thomas walks downstairs to get a drink and sees Cornwell knocked out on the stairs. 

Thomas walks past Cornwell and gets a drink before going back upstairs.

Elsa comes back into the TV room and sits down.

Perry: Want to put Tellie Tubbies on?

Thomas: Sure.

Where's Lily?

Fade in 

Lily and Dinkleburg are sitting on a couch thinking.

Lily excitedly: We should get a kitten or a puppy!

Dinkleberg: But how will we convince mum and dad to get us one?

Lily: Well we could ask them politely.

Dinkleberg: Nah that won`t work let's get our nerf guns and threaten to shoot them!

Lily angrily: No that would hurt them!

Dinkleberg: But if we don't get the puppy we`ll have nothing to do!

Lily infuriated: SCREW YOU YOU DEGENERATE!!!

Dinkleberg stands up and grabs Lily`s hair

Dinkleberg: Listen here you, we are getting that puppy!

  

Lily punches Dinkleberg in the stomach.

Dinkleberg: You worthless scum.

Dinkleberg grabs a book and hits Lily with it.

Lily screaming: Oooowwww that HURT!

Lily kicks Dinkleberg.

Dinkleberg trips Lily up.

Lily: I`m going to tell mum.

Dinkleberg: You won`t be alive when mum comes home.

Lily stands up and begins wrestling with Dinkleberg for a few minutes.

Lily: I HATE YOU!

Dinkleberg pushes Lily away and throws a book at her.

Lily begins crying.

Lily: Just leave me alone Dinkleberg.

Dinkleberg: No Lily.

Dinkleberg grabs a chair.

Screen cuts out

Screen lights up again

Dinkleberg drags Lily`s corpse behind the house and grabs a shovel.

Dinkleberg: Good by Lily.

Digging noises begin.

A car pulls up outside.

Dinkleberg rushes back inside.

Dinkleberg picks up his computer.

Door opening noises.

Dinkleberg: Hi mum can we get a puppy?

Voice: Sure dear, and where's Lily?
