Acrostic poem

Inside all day,
Secure in a house,
Outsides empty,
Learning from home,
Away from society,
Two meter distancing,
Isolating with family,
Outbreak of a disease,
National emergency in New Zealand.

The Trenches

I bent down and hid in the trench as an artillery shell collided with the earth. I got back up and fired some rounds before ducking down again. Earlier this day I heard some people say that the Germans were going to try to invade Russia even though it was going to be winter soon.
Boom another artillery shot hit the ground as I thought how insane the German leader was. Then I heard someone shout ¨Plane Incoming!¨ I ducked to the ground again as several bombs were dropped onto no mans land.
I stood up and continued shooting at the invading German forces then I felt a pain in my heart as a bullet penetrated my chest and the world went black.

Left Behind Part 4

I had been in the air for three days when I the fuel was nearly out, I slowly descended and landed in an empty clearing. I stepped out of the airship and pulled out my map I was about four days away from the safe place if I continued walking there.
I climbed a tree and to my surprise I saw a settlement in the centre of a river. The settlement was floating on the water, it had three draw bridges, a wall of scrap metal around it, a few small gardens inside and fish drying on racks.
I ran towards the town and as I got closer I saw people leading horses onto the town and a name painted onto the walls ¨Mariana¨. When I arrived at one of the gates a person saw me and said ¨Whats a girl doing out in the wilderness?¨. When I remained silent the man said ¨well come on in we have more than enough food and you will fit right in.¨
And just like that I was a part of a town.

Five Sense poem

My Dog Pepper

Pepper is as dark as a moonless night,
She smells like a ferocious hunter,
She feels as warm as a cuddle and smooth as silk,
She has a bark as loud as rumbling thunder,
She tastes the salty blood of doomed possums.

Left Behind Part 3

As I exited the camp I noticed an ere quietness permeated the landscape making me think I was about to be attacked by those ¨things¨ which made me be extra cautious about where I stepped. After a few hours of walking I came across and old airship yard and one of the airships had its lights on.
I walked inside it and pushed the corpse of the pilot of the seat to look at the fuel gauge. It was about half full and would bring me two thirds of the way to the safe place. I read the safety manual and turned on the airship and began flying towards the only place I could go.

My pet

My Pet
This is my pet Pepper:
She is the cutest mother dog and is the mother of twelve puppies, she is very
energetic and loves to play fetch. Most of the day she lies around and snoozes
while trying to escape her daughter Nala.

Note to Quinn; Pepper is cuter than your dog.

Left Behind Part 2

I wandered back to the treehut at dawn and found the broken body of the boy lying still on the ground, I hauled it into the forest and left it to rot alone. I return to the camp and found that it was already torn to pieces by the creatures.
I walked into the main building and found a map that marked where the camp was located and where the ship was going, it would take me a while to get there on foot but there was no other safe place as close as it was to me.
I grabbed some rations and began my journey to the only safe place.

Left Behind Part 1

The ship rose away into the starry night and left me alone kneeling in the mud. I walked away from the refugee camp and entered the forest that surrounded it . They were going to come for me, they already could smell me. But I continued walking  into the darkness until I found  my old treehut.
I curled up in a ball and tried to go to sleep but they had surrounded my hideout  and began  to gather outside until finally they howled and attacked. I heard a wimpier which tempted me to look down. I saw a redhead with long hair and brown eyes get ripped apart by the creatures while he tried to fend off the beasts with a lit torch.
I jumped out of the treehut and ran away from the feast until day broke.
When it was morning I began to walk back to the treehut.
