Left Behind Part 8

That night there was a feast and celebrations as the Mariana was moving again, it was a special occasion as the Mariana stayed in one place for up to 5 years. There were plenty of fun activities but I stayed in my room planning a way to escape this place.

I had been told that the Mariana drifts for weeks at a time and the bridge only opens for scouts to go out to survey the nearby area making it nearly impossible to escape, but there are motor boats that are sent out to make sure there are not any threats in the path of the Mariana.

My only chance is to get onto one of those motor boats, so I began writing to people that I wanted to be a boat scout and I was accepted. A few weeks later I was sent out on my first survey.

As I glided on the top of the water I found out the name of the machines we were riding. Jet Skies. As the sun began to set we set up our camp underneath a rocky outcrop that hid us from the warm colourful rays of the sun. I was told it was to hide us from predators in the sky.

At midnight I stole some extra food and jumped onto the jet ski and flew down the river away into the dark unknown.

Left Behind Part 7

I dumped the bucket of fertiliser on the potatoes and went up to my room to look at the land drifting by as the Mariana lowered nets to gather fish and eels. As I looked over the plated walls surrounding the circular boat I saw a vast swarm of birds rise from the forest and fly off to the west.

I jumped onto the ground level and grabbed a fillet of fish off the drying rack and dropped it down my throat. As I began going back to the farms I heard a roar from the forest and people shouting. I turned around to see people running towards the entrance to the basement.

I went up to my room and looked out of the window to see a mutated beast charging towards the Mariana. I thought it would stop at the water's edge but it ran in the water and continued charging forwards, it was going to collide with the Mariana and destroy it when the beast got flung backwards by an underwater explosion and was knocked unconscious.

I continued looking at the creature as harpoons dug into its flesh and dragged it towards the Mariana. The beast struggled but to no avail, as soon as it was close enough small boats with two or three people rowed out to it and hacked at its flesh cutting off chunks of meat as one boat went up to its head and rammed a harpoon through its eyes killing it.

Left Behind Part 6

The person looked at me, shocked. He said ¨I...I don't know, i´ve only been here
for a few days¨. And then he walked away leaving alone in the shadows.

The next morning I walked back to the eastern side and paid more attention to
the sign that marked the entrance to the farming area. It looked decently old
and was beginning to rust. As I went into the farming area I looked at the ground
and saw a trail of dried blood leading to the compost bin.

I opened the lid and looked inside the bin, at first I only saw rotting plants and
dung but then I noticed what appeared to be a silver necklace in the rot. As I
lifted it out I saw a photo of two people getting married on a beach. I dug further
into the bin and found more bits of metal until near the bottom I found the fresh
body of a child with a broken limb in there, and then it struck me the reason
why there are so little people. When this town was made a lot of people helped
but there was not enough room for everyone and not enough fertiliser for the
plants, so they massacred everyone and slowly found more people to help the
town.

I pulled my head out of the bin and grabbed a bucket of fertiliser so I wouldn't
look suspicious as I heard the noise of the boat drifting further down the river
as the last scouts came back.

Agent Slug

I sat in my prison with the slater wondering how I got here. I was spying
on the group of interest when a girl with long tangled hair and sweaty
greasy hands grasped my elegant slimy body and put me in a cramped
container with tasty lettuce.

The next day the sweaty boys mother and brother got me a friend, a
nice slater we talked for awhile when the giant structure we were in
stopped moving and the sweaty boy (who now had dirt and filth in his
hair) picked me up and began walking to a new mega structure.

When I was inside the nice brother tried to take a picture of me, but
the sweaty boy kept on ruining the photos so the nice brother walked
away.

Now I sit in the container wondering what to do. I couldn't break the
walls, they were too hard, all I could do was wait. So I waited for days
on end until one night the sweaty boy forgot to close the lid and I
escaped.

Left Behind Part 5

I was assigned a role as a gardener in the eastern side of the Mariana. When I was working I found out that there were only 23 people in the Mariana and everyone knew each other. I wondered how this was made by so few people.
During my first dinner people asked me what my name was and why I wasn't talking. I unravelled the scarf that hid my mouth before I opened my mouth to reveal my mutated mouth. I was capable of splitting my lower jaw in half to swallow large things and I lacked a tongue.
Before anyone could say anything I grabbed a piece of paper and wrote ¨ I lost my ability to speak my I was younger.¨
I wrapped the scarf back around my head and grabbed some food before walking out of the room and hiding in the gardens. I took the scarf off and pulled the bones out of my fish before I dropped it down my throat. After my meal I climbed to my room on the second floor and before I went inside I saw another person, I ran up to them and wrote ¨How was this boat made by so few people?¨
